I didn't amend this page last week - it was too hot to do more than anything essential, and then I have had some catching up!
The Blessing of the Bell in Coleford was a wonderful service even if I used rather too much incense and caused several people to choke (incense is not something I have used before). The bell has now gone back to Matthew Higby for some final work on the headstock and will be re-hung early next week. Later than I thought but we are getting there!
We also had a great pet service in Holcombe, though I cannot pretend that the vicarage cats, Jack and Jill, enjoyed it ...
This coming weekend is a very busy one for us at St Andrew's Holcombe. On Friday morning at 10.30 village organisations are bringing in floral tributes and we shall also be receiving items for our exhibition of Holcombe Past. If you have anything you could lend for this, please do let me or Gay know. Then on Saturday 1st the church will be open from 12.00 - 4.00. Refreshments will be served. On Sunday morning (the 2nd) our service at 11.15 will focus on our village of Holcombe with a Powerpoint talk on the building of St Andrew's. In the afternoon the church will be open from 2.00 - 4.00. And in the evening, we have Evensong at Holcombe Old Church.
Please pass round this info - none of my Facebook pages is working at the moment and this is proving difficult to resolve.
