My apologies - it is far too long since I updated the site but I have had two incredibly busy weeks and have just not had a moment.
If anyone has been down to Holcombe Old Church, you will have seen that the churchyard is in a really terrible state. This is a result of the filming which took place in absolute pouring rain. The film people are going to pay for repairs to the damage, and I am waiting for someone to have a look and give me a quotation now. It isn't going to take five minutes, but it will be done asap. In the meantime, you will be pleased to know that, together with Holcombe Parish Council, we have sorted the moles. And we will be putting a path between the path to the church and the cemetery. In the meantime, at least the snowdrops look lovely.
Our Quiz in Coleford two weeks ago was really successful and we raised a total of £562.10. Huge thanks to all who came or helped.
The next fundraising event we have will be for St Andrew's, and is a Beetle Drive in Holcombe Village Hall at 7.00 pm on Friday 24th February. This is a terrific family evening. Beetle sheets are £4.00 for adults and £2.00 for those under 14, and there will be a prize for each category. Tables of four and to book please ring Gay on 01761 232140.
From this Sunday, instead of a sermon, I shall be giving a series of illustrated talks on the Psalms (using Powerpoint). I find the Psalms wonderful - but sometimes extremely challenging. And they are so different in every translation.
