This Sunday 12th is Remembrance Sunday and we have three services: 9.30 in Holy Trinity Coleford, 11.15 at St Andrew’s Holcombe and 3.00 at the Royal British Legion, Coleford. The events of the First World War are 100 years ago and no one who fought then is now alive but this year we have been remembering some of the most bloody battles fought in that War. Many of the older people in our villages can remember the Second World War as children, and some fought. And then there are all the conflicts since, including those today. It is important that we never forget, so please try to come.
I have written an article on our War Graves for the November edition of On The Map. You can buy this from the Post Office in Coleford.
